A capa da terceira edição do livro Shigofumi que será lançado neste mês, confirmou que o seu anime vai estrear em janeiro de 2008, passando em canais UHF do Japão.
A produção é da Bandai Visual e a animação será produzida no estúdio J.C.STAFF (Zero no Tsukaima, Shakugan no Shana). A direção é de Satou Tatsuo (Nadesico, Uchuu no Stellvia), desenho de Kuroboshi Kouhaku (Kino no Tabi) e roteiro de Ookouchi Ichirou (Angelic Layer, Azumanga Daioh).
Shigofumi é um anime baseado no livro Shigofumi - Stories of Last Letter, lançado em 2006 pelo escritor Amamiya Ryo, trazendo uma história comovente de fantasia com o tema sobre a morte.
A protagonista é Fumika, uma garota vestida de carteiro que carrega uma misteriosa varinha falante. O seu trabalho é entregar milagres chamados de Shigofumi, um forte desejo deixado por pessoas que tiveram que partir para o outro mundo. Este forte desejo se transforma em um envelope de carta, e o trabalho da Fumika é entregar este milagre para aqueles que não tiveram a chance de ouvir a última mensagem da pessoa querida.

O Shigofumi, ele consegue ser bastante distinta dos outros animes. Anime têm 12 episódios, é um dos melhores animes da temporada de janeiro q está encerrando. É um anime q vale apenas, a história é bem desenvolvida, mesmo parecendo q os episódios iniciais n tem ligação com os episódios seguintes, de alguma maneira vão interferir. Não é anime kawaii, mas tbm n é anime como Dark than Blak, posso dizer q fica no meio termo.
